Beauty & Brains

Summary: Narcissa thinks beauty can get you everything. Andromeda disagrees.

“There are better uses for a wand than to make oneself more beautiful, Cissa,” Andromeda said quietly from the windowsill of the expansive room, watching her older sister cast cosmetic charms on herself. Without looking at the other, Narcissa responded.

“What would you know? You’re just a child. Beauty gets women what they want.”

Andromeda frowned at her sister’s answer. “But women can get what they want by themselves. Why bother just for that purpose? Why don’t they just use their brains?”

“Why do things yourself when you can get others to do them for you?”

Andromeda had no reply.
